About Doctor Roberts (D.C., Q.M.E)

I was born and raised in the small town of Scandia, Minnesota. My family has utilized Chiropractic care since I was very young, and I feel fortunate to have had such exposure. I can remember walking past the local chiropractor's house when I was five or six. My father pointed out the house and said, "the man who lives there is a Chiropractor." "What's that?" I asked. "Chiropractors are doctors who don't use drugs or surgery--they heal with their hands." He then added, "Chiropractors are the doctors of the future." I was intrigued by Chiropractic from that point on. Over the years many other experiences led me toward Chiropractic. I studied martial arts with a passion for many years, and two of my fellow students were Chiropractors. I had several opportunities to witness "Chiropractic miracles" in this setting. Another area of study and focus in my life has been yoga. The importance of spine is constantly stressed to the student of yoga. This added to my understanding of Chiropractic.

In 1999 my wife, my first daughter, and myself headed for Western States Chiropractic College (WSCC) in Portland, Oregon. WSCC was the last school that D.D. Palmer, the founder of Chiropractic, founded in 1904. Oregon has the largest scope of practice for Chiropractors, and therefore a wide range of material was taught at the school including minor surgery, obstetrics, and pharmacology. I feel this broad scope has enhanced my capabilities as a Doctor as well as my effectiveness as a Chiropractor.

After graduating valedictorian and summa cum laude with honors, I moved back to Nevada County (I had moved here in 1995). I have had the opportunity to work with several Doctors from 2003 until the present, and also have operated Roberts Chiropractic on the North San Juan Ridge since 2004. Roberts Chiropractic in Grass Valley opened in November 2005.

My practice has been a constant striving to provide the very best Chiropractic Care possible. In addition to my Doctor of Chiropractic degree I hold a B.S. in Human Biology. I have sought out post-graduate courses that I feel are most relevant toward perfecting my skill. In 2005 I was appointed by the State of California as a Qualified Medical Examiner (QME) and an Independent Medical Examiner (IME).

I am constantly inspired by the power of Chiropractic. The human body is truly the most amazing thing that we know of--ten thousand trillion cells all working together! This is many time the number of stars in the Milky Way! When this system is able to work together harmoniously, health is the result. When there is disharmony, disease is the result. The power of Chiropractic is in creating harmony within the body. I am privileged to watch patients regain health from a multitude of ailments with Chiropractic Care.
