Wednesday 2/7/2007 More on Vitamins C and E

More evidence shows that vitamins C and E taken in supplement form do not act as antioxidants.  Researchers actually induced oxidation (free radical damage) in subjects using hyperbaric oxygen.  They reported vitamins C and E did not alter the oxidative stress in the participants after 4 weeks of supplementation.

What this means is that in real-life situations vitamins C and E do not have a meaningful antioxidant effect.  To truly increase your antioxidant status you need to use food based antioxidants and raise your glutathione levels.  Click here to learn how!  For more evidence and information as to why these vitamins do not work, and can actually harm your health, read the “Taking Vitamins May Harm Me?” section of the Dairy and Eggs article.  You may also want to read the article on Triphala, which contains nature's richest known source of healthy vitamin C and is known to be a powerful antioxidant.
